Policeman Protects Shield
On this night, the police man sits in his car whilst guarding the victim of the car wreck from the oncoming traffic. The roaring traffic finally comes to a screeching stop and lay behind the police car and its blaring lights. The dark atmosphere and fog surround the incident as the rain droplets bounce off the clear windshield and slowly one by one drip onto the ground. The soundwaves from the horns of the cars echo off of each other and into the dreary night sky.
Policeman Protects Walls
The policeman stands there, hulking in the way. Most wouldn’t dare to pressure him, for fear of collapse. Left undisturbed and untested, we trust his surrounding presence without thought or question. After all, what else is there keeping the mayhem out? Surely it’s on us to lock the doors and shut the windows, but we need him too. There was a time before we had him in place. I know enough to know something’s been lost since then. But I’d cement him again if given a choice, albeit according to a different set of blueprints. Much like myself, he doesn’t always know what’s best, and sometimes he keeps things out when they should be left in reach.
